Im looking for multimedia/gaming computer with the greatest amount of flexibility for future upgrades. Im trying to get it down under $1000, which this price is close, but once I add vista it will throw in another $100. Any ideas for part swaps or cheaper solutions? Is this power supply overkill for this system?

Hmm your motherboard and processor are incompatible as mobo is lga775 while chip is lga1366 . Perhaps d/l and use Windows 7 RC as an OS?

ok, im getting a couple lists confused. I was looking yesterday at going with a phenom II x4, but didnt seem as fast, nor were the motherboards the greatest......although cheaper and i am certainly down for that. anyone have experience using both i7 and the latest and greatest phenom as to which was better for multimedia?

Well the biggest gains going i7 would be encoding/rendering but since u did mention cheaper viable options something like this would suffice really:

$720.52 less that 22" LCD and including ship/MIR
