Any suggestions for vosteran malware removal on windows 8.1?

Looking for anti-virus programs that will quarantine and uninstall malware. Specifically have a daughter who just inadvertently installed vosteran when attempting to get some freeware to support access to a game site. The laptop came with 8.1 Windows and has 30 day trial of McAfee Anti-virus preloaded. I have already tried re-imaging from, but the virus appears to be tied to the base account associated with the recovery image. So, it's either Fdisk, return the computer to the store or find an anti-virus software that can clean this nasty infection from her system.

I know this is a system building site, but I am trying to find a thread I trust...

Thanks. I will try that once I can boot into my system again. I just tried Windows Defender Offline. I created a USB boot disk with the app on it...changed the boot sequence so it would load...ran and it did not note Vosteran as an issue...now I can't get back to BIOS....ugh...now I need to create another boot disk on USB to see if I can get back into the BIOS. Any suggestions on that front? And Thanks again.
