thanks - i just didn't know if there was a test or benchmark program i wasn't aware of
An issue with used parts is...
"Is this the actual same part he showed me in the tests and screencaps?"
I could show you all the screencaps you want. And ship a broken identical one.
Or someone
gets a good one from you, complains it doesn't work, and ship back a different broken one. Yes, people do that.
A smooth video is somewhat hard to fake.
iirc, the serial number is on a sticker on the backside of the board, which means impossible to do a continuous video from it to the BIOS
that second point you describe i've already had something along those lines happen to me, which is why i planned to put a small scratch somehwere on it and take a closeup shot of. But the issue is Ebay, wanting to develop the reputation amazon has, has gone crazy with protecting buyers to the point of assisting them in screwing sellers.
I put up an electronic item (Parrot handsfree phone kit) that i described in the heading as "for parts/repair" and in the listing did a full descript of the fact that this was a first gen unit, and a number had a bad processor (per parrot) but i was out of warranty when i got around to installing.
Buyer bought it at auction, and while it was still in transit wanted me to issue a refund, his reason: his browser had a known issue with ebay's web format and he didn't read the listing descript. A) his choice of browser was not my responsibility, b) it was in the frigging heading that it was for parts only. Before i responded i asked ebay CSR how they would handle this if he filed the dispute he threatened to file - their response "oh we consider an auction to be a contract and this is clearly "buyer remorse". So i denied his request - he filed, and ebay gave him the dispute inspite of my asking them to review our PM message exchanges. What really pissed me off was that they issued the refund automatically when UPS tracking showed it had been delivered. He could shipped me a box of rocks and they wouldn't have known or cared
and to really put salt in the wound, they deducted 14 of my positive feedbacks - still don't understand the logic of that one
