I have two 1 GB dimms of PC2700 DDR-333MHz ram that I had purchased earlier this year for an upgrade to my computer but now I believe the motherboard has failed so I need to replace is there any hope of finding a board that would take this ram?

yes. There are many. Any NF3, NF4, Intel 865, 875 etc., etc., etc. the list goes on and on. You should list your complete system specs beginning with your processor.

Businesses are loaded with Dell Optiplex GX270s that have a miserable 512MB of RAM filling their two DIMM slots. If you can't use it, someone will want it.

Yes, DDR RAM costs more than DDR2 RAM now, because supply is way down, but many with legacy systems still want to upgrade their RAM.
