Hi there,
I recently upgraded my PC (first self-build) from my olddd PC. However I didn't upgrade the monitor as it seems okay. But it is very old. It's a BenQ G2222HDL monitor, which is a full hd monitor as far as I'm aware. However, I was considering purchasing this monitor: https://iiyama.com/gl_en/products/prolite-xub2492hsu-w1/ . But they are both full HD, the new one isn't QHD or 4k. So I'm wondering - does simply being newer mean that this monitor will be any better? Are there any other factors that would make this a worthwhile upgrade, or should I look at upgrading to 1440 or 4k?
The only difference I can really see between my old one and the new one is that the latter is IPS, which seems good.

Any thoughts?
Thanks!

The image quality difference between a 4K monitor and a 1080p one is mind-blowing!
It has 4 times more pixels per inch compared to a 1080p.

But everything is about budget and personal usage.
Higher resolutions require a “beefy” GPU.
If you’re gaming a lot, you’ll need a monitor with fast response time (1-3 ms) and high refresh rates (higher than 60Hz).

IPS panels are good at reproducing colors (better than TN and VA ones).

But if you’re tight on budget, maybe the 27” 1440p monitor is the better choice.
Still, I wouldn’t buy a 1080p monitor in 2021 (but that’s just me).
