As cheap as possible, good enough for wechat and/or whatsapp alone is fine. Bad battery is also not a problem, because will be mostly used indoor

Alcatel has some unlocked basic smartphones around $50. Just don't expect wonderful performance or anything at this price range.

I really don't recommend buying smartphones in that price range and advise you to save up at least 100 more dollars, but if you insist, here's a video that Austin Evans made not a while ago about cheap smartphones
