I find it very annoying that installers for certain programs and games forcefully auto-install outdated versions of redist packages I already have. For example GTA 4's installer will forcefully install ancient versions of MS Visual C++ 2005 x86 and GFWL, or Steam always installs MS Visual C++ when you install a new game. Is there anyway to prevent this so that I don't have to uninstall and reinstall redist packages?
Sorry for late reply, but no it doesn't require it. I have uninstalled the old version and replaced it with the newer one and it works just fine. I just want a way to prevent this from happening every time.
