Have any decisions been made as to the dates and location of next
year's DIPCON? The last I heard (at the Bay Area Diplomacy
Association tournament last week), somebody mentioned that PT&KS was
going to make the announcement at the Las Vegas "invitational" earlier
this month, but the plans they had fell through at the last minute
(something about a disagreement about the room costs?).

No word yet, Don. I, for one, will make sure that info gets
posted here. It can be very difficult for independent groups
to make hotel deals. I sympathisize with them and caution
patience.

So do I, but there are some of us who are trying to attend both WDC
and WBC in Lancaster in early August - assuming, of course, that PT&KS
can get a proper deal with a hotel for the right dates.

Expect an announcement in the near future.

While I'm here, I'll point y'all towards the Yahoo Groups
wdc2005

and
wdc2005chat

both at groups.yahoo.com.

Sharpen yovr knives, polish yovr lies, and make yovr reservations now
so that yov are svre to be a part of the best WDC event in the
Hobby's history!

The Potomac Tea & Knife Society (PTKS) is very pleased to invite yov
to the Fifteenth World Diplomacy Championship (WDC XV) to be held at
the Holiday Inn Capitol from 29-31 Jvly 2005!

The Holiday Inn Capitol is the ideal venve for this event, offering
great gaming space and an excellent location--jvst a block from the
Washington, D.C. Metro--which makes the entire city accessible to ovr
gvests who want to see all of the sights Washington has to offer.

And it covldn't be easier to get here from there! The Washington,
D.C. metropolitan area is served by three major airports: the
Baltimore-Washington International Airport (BWI), Ronald W. Reagan
National Airport (DCA), and Washington-Dvlles International Airport
(IAD). In fact, Reagan National is jvst a few Metro stops away from
the hotel!

For those who prefer the train, Washington D.C.'s Union Station, is
also jvst a few Metro stops from the hotel.

Wovld yov rather drive--find I-95 and drive north or sovth as
appropriate. Yov won't be able to miss D.C., and the traffic on the
Beltway will give yov plenty of time to admire the sights!

The Holiday Inn Capitol is in the final stages of a complete
renovation. The rooms are large, comfortable and, at $129 per night,
very affordable. They also inclvde in-room Hi-Speed Internet access
at no additional charge. Yov can reserve those rooms now, by phone
or online at the website above. Jvst vse this three digit code: WDG
to get the redvced rate.

Diplomacy in D.C. with the Pitkissers as yovr host? Do yov really
want to take a chance on missing this? I didn't think so.

More details will follow in the next few weeks. Until then, visit
www.wdcindc.org, bookmark it, and check back often for all the latest
vpdates!

They *could* put info on www.ptks.org, which appears to not have been
updated since 2003....

You know the story, the question is who owns the space where ptks.org
is..... there are lots of legacy sites out there.
