Please note, this is mainly for original UT. But also applies to the
sequels.
I like to play Carry the Flag over Capture the Flag (flag must be
manually returned to base). But I dispise the 7 points for cap, no
points for anything else but kills, scoring system. There are several
enhanced scoring system, but they, like Carry, are game types, rather
than mutators.
Has anyone combined the two?
Ideally, you would get points for grabbing the flag (maybe 3), for
carrying it into neutral territory (2 or 3), for carrying it into your
territory (1 or 2), and for capping (2 at most; this is the easiest
part).
There'd also be extra points for killing an enemy flag carrier,
protecting a flag carrier, defending the flag, and whatever else.
Imagine, Ralph and Chester invade the enemy base; Ralph grabs the
flag, but is killed. Chester picks up the flag, and flees the enemy
base. He's killed as he passes into his own territory, and Alfred
picks it up, bringing it back to base, but he's killed by a nuke.
Bob, who's been hiding in the spawn room up until now, grabs the
dropped flag and scores.
In regular CTF, Bob is the only one who gets points. (Everyone else
has been too busy running to even make a kill.) With my enhanced
scoring, only Alfred losses out on score, and Ralph and Chester get
the most points, which they deserve.
