I was thinking about getting it, but getting mixed reviews from people. I just want a good range(my house is about 1500-1800 sqft) and stable WiFi connection.

If you don't think I should get it, please suggest something else within this price range ($40-$50). Not more than that, cuz it gets pricier in my country.

The WNDR3400 has 3 versions, and for v3, the lowest transmit power at 5 GHz would be 13.30 dBm. With 1800 sq ft, I'd expect something like 60+ linear diagonal ft of coverage is needed. If you have drywall every 20 feet or so, you might get a signal strength (RSSI) of -66 dBm, or if it's concrete, -99 dBm which would be nearly too low for packet delivery. So no, don't buy this old piece of junk.

If you need to be around $40-$50 and can make do with an 802.11b/g/n router like the WNDR3400, but with more transmit power, check if the Asus RT-N66W is affordable where you live. Its transmit power is 4-6 times higher than the WNDR3400v3 depending on the band, with 4 times more RAM storage and 4 times faster CPU, along with 1/3 higher link rates.

Or if you can get your hands on a WNDR3400v1 (version 1), that would be much better than a v3 for transmit power.
