Question Anyone ever hear of this issue? New NVME drive only detected when UNSCREWED.

Laptop: HP 15M-EE0023DX

Just upgraded HD to an HP EX950 nvme M.2. Many hours of troubleshooting later, I've discovered the laptop only detects the HD if left UNSCREWED. This makes zero sense to me, but confirmed it several times, screwing it in where its no longer detected, then unscrewing it again and its detected. I've adjusted the seating so many times, angled, etc. Literally the only way the ssd can get detected if its unscrewed.

Any ideas?

Nope. I tried loosely and still doesn’t work. The original drive was a 2 notch B/M key and I’m using a M (though based on motherboard it shouldn’t matter). Interestingly, when I put the original drive in, there isn’t that springed angle when the drive is unscrewed, it’s flat. The new M key has the spring angle that only flattens when you screw it down. I’m thinking I’ll have to return this and get a western digital B/M key drive at the size I need.
