I'm looking to finally upgrade a very old 17" CRt monitor as I'm moving into a place with a smaller room, so I won't be able to have a TV and PC monitor in the same room. Cos of this I've been looking into getting a TFT monitor, but one with a TV Tuner card installed. Does anyone have these, and are they any good. IS there an alternative (ie an all-in-wonder and find a remote with it, if that exists) Thanks in advance. Hoping to get one for under £200 ($360).

Yes, an ATI All-In-Wonder card will work very well... and if you have a digital cable input, the picture quality will be good, too. (However, you have to remember you're still displaying a TV signal on your monitor and if you sit at a normal monitor distance the picture will be grainy. If you sit 6 ft away like you would a normal TV, the picture will be OK).

You can also get a separate TV tuner card. I have a good piture from a cheapo Hauppauge Win-TV GO with a digital satellite input. The card is normally $40 but you can often get it at CompUSA for $20.

I prefer either the AIW or separate tuner card over having it built into the monitor.
