I doubt if anyone's ever attempted it. I know I wouldn't. Pissing off
Parker Brothers is not something I'd care to do. They have a very firm
copyright on that game, and would most likely sue anyone who tried to do
a clone.

That one's been around for awhile. Either Parker Brothers has somehow
managed not to know about it (which I doubt), or they don't have a problem
with it.

It does run under XP, but on my machine it's so-so (it's called
dosmonopoly.zip for a good reason).

I found another monopoly on my disk: (a better one, made for win 2.10,
runs fine under winXP)

The situation is more complicated than that. Hasbro/Parker Brothers have
a copyright on their version only.

I am going to try all the versions. awhile back i got a free version of
monopoly on cd from a fast food resturant giving them away in their kids
meals. i asked for a copy and they gave me one. It was at Mcdonalds back
when they are doing their monopoly money game. thanks everyone.
