lol, obviously not many people know much about them

okay, so i have a choice of 5. Which one should I go for for my current set up.

1- GeIL 2GB PC6400 800MHz CAS 4-4-4-12 for £66
2- GeIL 2GB PC6400 800MHz CAS 5-5-5-15 for £62
3- Team Elite 2GB PC6400 800MHz CAS 5-5-5-15 for £58
4- Corsair 2GB DDR2 XMS2-5400C4 TwinX for £56
5- GeIL 2GB PC5300 667MHz CAS 4-4-4-12 for £55

Im using an E6600 cpu and maaaay oc a little bit or may just leave it. Most will probably say the 1st one, but i would rather save the £11 if there isnt that much of a performance drop and go for the 667mhz version if i can    (hey im just a student...let me live) :p. I dont see why I should go for the 800 version, when my mobo can only go as high as 667. I probably wont change my mobo for another year or so.

If you have better 2Gb options at the same price range then by all means, post away.

The only question here is how far u want to overclock.

If u already have RAM, why are u buying new RAM? You're not going to see a performance difference. The only reason to upgrade RAM is to overclock ur CPU.

my current ram is a Pc2700 or DDR333

im just thinking that at around £60 i may aswell get DDR2.

so if there wont be much difference then i'll stick with this till i get a DDR2 only mobo in a years time. By then they will probably be cheaper any way.

Theres no performance difference between DDR-333 and DDR2-800.

The only downside to DDR-333 is that u wont be able to overclock almost at all.

Track, I think you need to edit that post.

@OP, if this is the board you have, and you don't plan to OC much then that Corsair doesn't seem like too bad a deal and may satisfy for your OC needs. That Team Elite doesn't seem like too bad of a deal either but I too am unfamiliar with that brand. I've heard some people say that OC UK is a real pain to deal with when it comes to RMAg bad or unwanted product so if you get the DDR2 800 Team Elite and it doesn't P.O.S.T you may have a headache on your hands trying to return it.
