Anyone know where 24/30 inch DELL LCD's are assembled?
I am curious as to the country, are the components sent from Korea, china, etc.. to Austin Texas, to be assembled there?

Depends where you live, I'm aware of 4 assemebly countries:

Mexico
Czech Republic
China
Japan

So where are you? Europe means you'll likey get a Czech built one, USA means you'll likely get a Mexican built one etc.

LOL the reason why i asked, is that it takes 5-10 business days to get these monitors, that is 2 weeks max.

So i called DELL and asked where they are assembled, Dell-Head said that the reason for the delay is that they are assembled, in Austin, Texas... (i guess between the lunch breaks at Rudy's, the Dell staff over in Austin are "Assembling" monitor parts for 14 dollars an hour).

I couldn't belive my ears, you would figure they are assembled somewhere where the wages are lower, like China, India, even Mexico. (But Austin, Texas?) lol WTF?

Why would they assemble them in a JIT way? Shouldn't they have the monitors boxed up ready for shipment? I mean don't they have like a warehouse with 20,000 monitors stacked to the top that they go into and ship via UPS? Why the wait of 2 weeks. Do they test the monitor for 5 days? to determine if there is a dead pixel? LOL

Test? LOL! Good one!

NOt sure if they are trade compliant or not but that might have something to do with the Ausin operation. i doubt it since I would supsect mexico would cover trade compliancy. The majority are made at FoxConn in China.

Yeah hard to belive their story it is assmbled in Austin,
probably Mexico.

Did anyone ever return an LCD to them with one dead pixel? i'm not keeping mine if it even has one dead one. lol
