Anyone know why my laptop would be making a quiet, but noticeable, buzzing noise?

At first I thought it was my HDD cus I was transferring but it doesn't just do it when transferring.

fan probably, or even hdd, it does spin even when you are not transferring (applications running)

That doesn't explain how I've had it for nearly 2 years and it's just started doing it

fans are mechanical, it is not surprising if it wears out. it's like having a car, it is not guaranteed that it will still be perfect after 2 years.
or maybe it's just dirty
