Anyone know why three of my icons are lit up orange like this?

If I close one of the apps and open it again it stops being orange but then if I do anything in it it goes orange again

Typically, when you see a taskbar icon highlighted like that, it means there is some sort of notification for that app. A new message, a reminder, an update, etc...
