I manually install ALL updates on Win 7 pro x64 Hp 2540p. 8gb i7 @2.80gh and check and double check to make sure of what am updating.
3 days ago I installed the security rollup KB4525235 and today when I booted my desktop had been rearranged, the above files were missing, cleaned out, and even Brave browser was impacted with no bookmarks and some passwords missing.
I did a sytem restore to BEFORE the KB update, - and voila - got my files back, promptly ferried off onto my seagate external.
WTHeck is going on? How does a computer seem normal for 2 days and on the third day abscond with your files and rearrange your desktop? I have gwx control panel too. Weird.
