Anyone outhere ?
Will I be able to play Crysis at max ?
Specs-
i3-2100
ddr3 ram 4x1 gb
biostar h61mu3
ati 5830
Max res - 1440 X 900

Also does turning on AA and AF really improves graphics ?
I read somewhere that AA and AF does not improve graphic much but turning them off would lead to very nice fps. Is that right ?
In simple words what is the use of AA and AF ?

on that system you will struggle to max out crysis 1 ,,, you may get away with it at 14/9 but dont count on it. my 5870 i7 struggles to keep the game over 30fps underground on max settings. with 4xfsaa and 16xanno@1920/1080

Yes turning on AA and AF improves graphics. As far as to what degree, that is a matter of taste.

It's worth noting that Anisotropic Filtering has very minimal impact on fps on modern GPU's, whereas Anti-Aliasing is the most demanding feature to enable and will result in the most dropped frames.

On your computer even at 14x9 you won't be playing the game with over 45 fps at your small with settings even close to maxed (likely far less to be precise). 5830 just isn't a gaming card.

I'd say no.

At that resolution to get truly acceptable performance on max you'd need a 560 Ti or a 6950.

This assessment is based on working backwards from my own experience. Before upgrading to a single 680, I used to run 560 Ti SLI and found that I needed to tweak the settings somewhat to get acceptable frame rates. Your res has about 20% more than half the pixels as mine (1080p), meaning that half the graphics power (ie a single 560 Ti) would lead to about 20% worse performance at max.

The processor is not great but ok, though bear in mind your processor power has no impact whatsoever on how performance changes when you change the graphics settings, unless you're at the processor limit. This is because by upping the graphics settings you are only increasing the stress on the GPU, not the CPU.

Certainly, you can significantly improve your frame rates by turning down AA. Personally I can just about stand 2xAA but absolutely cannot bear no AA at all. 4xAA is quite pretty and the minimum setting I'm comfortable with, with no reservations.

i can run crysis warhead on min settings @ 1024 x 768 on a laptop with 1st gen i3 and onboard graphics at 28fps average if it helps at all. And on enthusiast settings I get 2fps average. Don't know how well those stats would scale up to what you've got though.

i dont use AA because i only see the difference if i stop to look closely at some grass or something (and i dont realy do that much)
but everything else i have on max and it runs ok
my build is
intel pentium D 3.2 ghz (with a 20% overclock so its about 3.8)
2GB ddr3 ram 1066mhz (i beleave the overclock on the processor speeds the memory up the max my motherboard says it can support is 1333 apprently)
nvidia gtx 275 (underclocked for two reasons: one its on its way out (i think underclocking stops the driver from crashing anyway) and two its bottle necked by the rest of the system anyway :/)
i also usualy run with a memory stick supplying a few gigs of ready boost (it might not do anything for crisis but it helps clear up some lagg on wow)
