Thanks in advance!

I was wondering if anyone with hardware similar to mine running the beta-version of Windows 11 would share how the speed of the O/S compares to Windows 10.

Thanks!

Here are my stats:

intel Core i5-6500 6th Gen
ASUS Z170 Pro Gaming Motherboard
DDR-4 8 GB G. Skill
Samsung EVO 850 500 GB SSD
Corsair 600 watt PSU.
I use onboard intel graphics.

Solution
True!

So back to my question: Can anyone who is running the new preview version let met know how it is performing? If so, how is it performing on hardware like mine? I'm sure there's a lot out there testing it on older hardware.

Again, thanks!
Everything I've read, here and elsewhere, seems to say it is indistinguishable from Win 10, except for a little bit of GUI difference.

Any magical performance benefit would have come from it being a fresh install.
Thanks in advance!

Your PC ain’t compatible with Win11:
  1. Intel CPU’s must be 8th gen or newer.
  2. Your GPU must be DirectX 12 compatible (I don’t know if your onboard graphics is that).
  3. You need TPM 2.0. + Secure boot enabled.
  4. You need to have UEFI BIOS.

The Insider Previews/beta-versions can run on older hardware. I was asking beta-testers. Also...

Recently, MS blogged that Windows 11, with a fresh install, will be able to run Windows 11 on "Unsupported hardware." It will worn you that you may have problems but you can still install. Win for the older machines that have the hardware to run it!

The only thing I was lacking was a TPM chip. Ordered one from Newegg that is made by Asus. It works great! The onboard graphics are DirectX 12 WDDM 2.0 compatible. I'm using a UEFI BIOS and Secure boot is enabled.

The current Dev version will install on just about anything.

This will not last. Or it might.
Too early to tell.

MS is changing requirements and statements almost daily.

What CPU are you having?
Because if the CPU is Win11 compatible, it should have TPM 2.0 in it, though it must be enabled manually from the UEFI menu.

Also... Win11 won’t receive updates if installed on unsupported platforms!
