I did a AMD Ryzen 9 3900X build with G.SKILL 3600 MHz RAM but the RAM would not run at 3600 MHz with my new Ryzen system and X470 motherboard so I set the RAM timings to match what it would likely be if it were 3200 MHz because it uses the same Samsung B-Die chips.

It does seem to be working reliably with the timings I set, but I'd like to make sure I'm not missing something or doing something wrong. It's also running at 1.35V.

Can anyone confirm I set the timings right for 3200 MHz operation? Here is a screenshot:

And I set it based on this:

Those first 6 timings are correct with my flare x 3200 on a rog strix x470 f gaming mobo.
My set on 3200 fast ryzen dram calculator
Is 14-14-14-14 -28 -42
But 1.40v
But you may be able to work the voltage down.
Since the 5204 bios update for my mobo things have not been the same and not in a good way.

Interesting. Have not tried the calculator... is it this?

I see you have 28-42 timings. Maybe you could take your voltage down to 1.35V if you used 34-48 instead?

Looks like the calculator (I just installed it) is telling me I could go with 30-44 for Samsung B-die at 3200. Cool... I may try all these settings. UPDATE: Trying the calculator settings now... seems to be working but haven't done any stress testing (yet).

Yep that's it.
Since the 5204 bios update for my mobo
I can't go over 3200 fast.
I had it at 3400 fast before the update.
I'm really not happy with Asus at this time.
To make things worse this mobo doesn't have flashback.
When it's time to upgrade the 2 fx system's i have still running msi b450 pro carbon will be at the top of the mobo list as it has bios flashback.

BIOS updates for RYzen 3rd gen right now are still in their Sketchy stage. So i'm quite sure it's just your BIOS being dumb. Wait for future BIOS revisions before you get worried.

Here's what I would recommend:

Set your 3600mhz RAM kit to 3600mhz in BIOS, then set ONLY the first FOUR timings manually. leave everything on auto. Then bump DRAM voltage to 1.4v.

Ryzen DRAM controller is nice, but I've had zero luck with it on my 1700X CPU. I have to do my own timings and it works fine.
