Anything better than the i7 4790/4790K coming for LGA-1150?

I purchased an i7 4790 for my Alienware Alpha. When I tested, I didn't really see any framerate increases, so I built a PC (kept the Alpha with the i3) and now have a full gaming PC.

Specs:
i7 4790
MSI Z97M Gaming Motherboard
MSI GTX 970 Gaming 4G
16GB DDR3 Corsair 16GB 1866MHz Ram
Noctua NH-U12S Cooler
EVGA SuperNova 850 G2 PSU
Crucial MX100 256GB SSD

I was wondering what is next in-line for the LGA-1150 socket, or is the i7 4790k the end of the line? I was thinking of upgrading to the next round of processors for this socket, and moving this one to the Alpha, but if this is it. I'll just buy a middle road i5 for the Alpha and call it a day.

So you want to know if we think you should lie and cheat a business so you can get an K processor when you yourself admit you won't be doing any over clocking?

Sounds like you want a K processor just for bragging rights rather than any sort of actual reason.

Also most places don't just let you return CPUS...

Never understood this bragging right crap. In the end, no one really cares what someone else has. I was just thinking the $30 or so I saved by not buying the "K" version (since it was going in the Alpha and wattage was a concern at the time), was a mistake. Though, I do see you're right. They'd only exchange for same CPU. So, I'm fine keeping the current one. I'd just like to know if there is anything else coming for this socket/chipset. If there is, I'll pick that up and move this processor back to the Alpha. If not, I'll just go for a middle of the road i5 upgrade on the Alpha, as that is where I play my games.
