I am quite new to SLI and I just purchased my 2nd 980 today. Got my SLI cable (thats still packed in the tiny bag that came with my motherboard).

What I currently know is to plug it in like any normal video card with the SLI cable plugged in the far left most slot (not the one on the right). Then enable SLI through my Nvidia Control Panel with the top option once I turn back on my PC. Is there anything else I should know? I don't understand much about 'SLI Profiles' much I seen that pop up a few times, but I assume those come with the latest drivers, correct?

Also is there by chance I need to download anything after setting up SLI or any BIOS changes?

Edit: I guess no one is going to help out oh well. 🙁

SLI is pretty idiot proof, nothing special you need to know really. Just follow the steps you outlined above and your computer will do the rest.

Bios changes are unlikely, unless you have disabled other PCI-e slots, you may have to re-enable your other PCI-e slots.
Nothing you need to download as the Nvidia Control Panel already has the ability to run them.

Enjoy the perks of the added power SLI will bring you! :)

Really apperciate the response! As I said it is my first time I been reading the FAQs over at Geforce, but I like to just make 100% sure about these things. I have not disabled any PCI-e slots so I shouldn't have to enable any of thoses.
