and they had a great deal on the XFX 1 gig 4870 card £164 but that is 100 notes more

Hope your not using it for gaming.

TBH with I7 it is 6gb of ram or don't bother with I7 if you want tri-channel. 3GB isn't enough, 4GB minimum.

Try Scan, they have 192 core 260 GTX's for £155 which is considerably more powerful than the 4670. Then go with a AMD 720 BE (since they are in I7 territory in some benchmarks)and Asus M4A79T-E mobo along with 4GB of 1600mhz ram. Then you can get a 500GB caviar black which has a 20MB/s performance increase on the standard WD drives.

You'll also want a PSU, 750W silverstone's cost about £80 with 60A combined on the 12v rail. Then for a case you will want a Coolermaster 690 since they're only £65 and and very nice cases for the money.

Never. And thanks helloworld for helping but it is too complicted for me. Can you give me website links and give some important informations.
And speed is not very important for me. Actually I got used to Intel celeron (socket 478) rig and non-existant graphic card. So for me; price = performace IS very important for me. But I still perfer i7 due to upgradabilty.

If you're not going to be gaming the 4670 isn't necessary. Replace it with a HD4350. And you'll be able to get by with a 350W PSU.
About £75-£175 left in your budget for case £35, PSU £45, DVD burner £15 and OS £80.

Lol, I meant I will play crysis at low quality with good fps AND I need graphic card that can play all games thats on market and will work low quality. Did I tell u I got used to low quality on old game (RTCW). I think HD 4670 or 4650 will be enough for me.

OK seriously there is no point in getting core i7 with such a low end video card core i7 is meant for multi GPU gaming rigs (i.e. GTX 295 in quad SLI, GTX 285 SLI, etc.). You will notice absolutely NO difference with an i7 CPU vs. a C2D/C2Q using such a low end card as the 4670. IMO for your budget get a Q6600/Q9400/PII, 4-8GB of DDR2-800 RAM, P45 motherboard, and a 4800/GTX 200 series graphics card. Get a nice aftermarket HSF and overclock your CPU to something like 3.2-3.6GHz and you will be SET.

Don't make the same mistake I made I got a core i7 920, ASUS P6T, and 3GB DDR3-1333 ram and a 8800GT it was a DUMB decision on my part I should have stayed with my Q6600 and upgraded my 8800GT to a better graphics card. I was used to the same quality gaming as you on my old computer I was playing TF2 on a P4, 512mb ram, and an FX5200 and let me tell you when you are going from getting 15-40 fps on lowest settings to getting 200-300FPS on highest settings it is an AWESOME feeling

For everyone saying "if you can't get a good video card, just get a dual core instead" aren't looking ahead to the future. There is no point in buying a 775 Mobo when Intel is done with that platform. I could see people saying "just get a quad core" if you already have a 775 Mobo and are just upgrading. But for starting completely from scratch, and you have the money, you would be stupid to not buy an i7.

Yes he may not get quite as many 3D Vantage points with this setup as if he had an OC'd E8400 with a gtx 295, but when he needs to upgrade in 3 years, he just has to pop a new processor in. He doesn't need to completely re-vamp everything. Video card prices are always dropping. Heck, isn't ATI coming out with the 4890 already after releasing the 4870 just a few months ago?

Really? A lot of smart people are still buying Core 2 dual and quad CPUs. Why do you think they're stupid?
What "new processor" will he be popping in? You've looked at the Intel roadmap, right? Are you thinking Sandy Bridge will be socket 1366?
My guess is that in 2012 he'll be looking at 2yr old Westmere CPUs, a 32nm die shrink of Nehalem due out in late this year. I doubt it will make much sense to pop a 6 core Westmere in to replace a 4 core Nehalem running at just slightly higher clock speeds. In C2 equivalent history it would be less of an improvement than in going from E6600 to Q9300.

May I suggest Ebuyer.com, I'm planning on doing something similar myself and every new build I've drawn up has been cheaper on ebuyer.com. The way I see it OCuK gives more variety but ebuyer has yet to be beaten substantially on price for me

That said I have just seen the i7 920 jump to £270 which I'm not pleased about, even with that price for the i7 the rest of the components together work out cheaper

I am however intrigued by this. So you phoned them up and spoke directly and got it discounted? information on this please
