Hey guys I recently bought the Acer nitro 5 (still waiting for it to arrive)

Acer Nitro 5 515-42-R5ED

I was wondering though, after reading quite a bit of reviews, it seems both the CPU and GPU are soldered, is this true? Also what kind FPS am I going to see on this with something as simple as Minecraft/league of legends/ team fortress 2 and other lower intensive games.

I also seen that it comes with 8gb ram installed. Should I upgrade to 16?

This machine is basically just going to be for school/light going and some streaming to twitch.

Thanks in advance.

the CPU and GPU are soldered in 99% of laptops on the market. Very few have the MXM standard that allows upgrades for the GPU or an easily accessible CPU socket to replace that either. Only machines I've seen that have this as a readily available option are from Sager and Alienware ( which both use chassis designs from Clevo).

My old M14X had an easily accessible CPU socket as long as I removed a few screws to remove the heat pipes. That said even it didn't have a removeable GPU. Last machine I saw that had a removable GPU was running 900 series cards a few years ago. From what I recall it was dual 970's in SLI
