So, last year in May I spent £1000 on my home-built gaming computer. The specs are:
Intel i5 3570k @ 3.4Ghz CPU
2x4GB Corsair Vengeance RAM
Gigaybyte HD 7970 GPU with 3GB GDDR5 RAM
550W XFX PSU
(And of course the other parts)
1 BenQ XL2411T Gaming Monitor
G510 Logitech Gaming Keyboard
Razer Naga Mouse
(Expensive headphones and microphone, not needed to upgrade.)
So, I have saved up around £400 and I don't know if I should upgrade, wait, and what to upgrade. I know the new Intel CPUs are releasing late this year, but I should have enough money by then to consider it. I am thinking about upgrading my GPU, mainly because it is a bit curved in the case but I have no trouble running games on high-ultra settings so it seems like a waste of money. Also, the RAM would be good to upgrade, but I heard it is pointless unless you are doing heavy video editing...
Also the Power Supply is not modular and has not got all that much power, I was thinking of buying a 600W Modular PSU so my PC will be cooler (my wiring is terrible at the moment) due to modular and look nicer, also suitable for upgrades later on.
So, is anything worth upgrading? I really don't want to spend money if I don't have to.
