Anyway to check if I accidentally damaged the CPU?

Hi everyone, I just finished my first build tonight, booted it up and installed OS. So far everything works fine. But I'm a little concerned about the CPU. When I installed the CPU cooler I may have screwed the heatsink on too tight, I tried to loosen it a bit afterward, but I'm just a little uneasy. It's been running fine so far, the CPU temp is idling at about 26 degrees Celsius. I'm hoping CPUs aren't that fragile but just want to make sure.

Solution
CPU coolers usually can't be overtightened because they incorporate features to either limit how far you can screw them down or by using bendable metal arms who limit the mounting pressure. CPUs are also very robust. You should be totally fine.
