I have an RME HDSP 9632 Pci audio interface card. Problem is most of today's high end boards do not support PCI anymore and the equivalent audio interface in the PCIe version is £500 and upwards. Quite steep to replace a card that is still fully functional and packed with more than I need currently.
I would like to keep using this card, but love the High end Asus boards that don't seem to have any PCI slots. Is there any way I can use a PCI card in a PCIe slot? Internally or Externally?
As far as I can see, there are adapters, but they make no sense to me as it would alter the card position inside the case resulting in mis-alignment. i.e it would not line up with the card slot access at the back of cases.
Any advice would be most helpful Thanks
