Question Problem with AOC monitor ?

Is this normal? On my brand new AOC 24G4X IPS Monitor the display is fine, only looking directly at the monitor, slight head movement is enough for it to dim significantly so that colors appear way darker.
If something is in shadow , from head on I see it clearly, but when I move my head the shadows are so dark I can't see any detail in it , is this ok?

It's my first IPS monitor and I've read so much about how good viewing angles are on those, but honestly it's worse than my old TN monitor, is my panel defective? Should i return it or is this supposed to happen?

Looks to be normal for that specific monitor/panel (along with bad white balance even after calibration).
It is not at all what to expect from IPS. For any decent IPS panel you will see detail loss, slight dimming and color shift... when looking at it from practically side-on, not from any realistic head movement with it in front of you.
I'd return it and look for another monitor.
