[SOLVED] AOC C24G1 and a 1070, HDMI vs DP

I recently got a AOC C24G1 for around $100 USD, my current graphics card is a EVGA GeForce GTX 1070. I've seen some debate about HDMI vs DP, but wanted a more personal answer. I'd be running the system for 1920x1080 @ 144Hz, which cable would be better for this? Also, I keep reading about issues with DP and the 20th pin, but haven't had enough resources to know if it's actually still a problem or how relevant it actually is. If it is a problem and DP is the recommended cable, are there any particular brands that avoid this issue?

Either one will work at 1080p 144 Hz on that monitor. Need DisplayPort to enable G-Sync though. Certified DP cables won't have any Pin 20 issues. There are recommendations in the pinned thread section 3. https://forums.tomshardware.com/threads/how-to-connect-to-a-120-hz-display.3268285/
