Freesync is only supported on Displayport 1.2 or HDMI on certain monitors.
You also need a gpu that support Freesync as well which normally will have a Displayport or HDMI.
What your current gpu and what monitor you looking at?
@Suztera sorry for downvoting your answer. Accidently pressed it and I cant undo it. My gpu is the gigabyte 1070 but my friend recommend this monitor eventhough it is freesynv

Then you won't be able to use the Freesync feature.
Your gpu should have a displayport and HDMI as well as dvi-d.
