Question AOL mail in Thunderbird is duplicated ?

I had TB for a good 20 years and made occasional donations, but lately with this verification rule and gmail controversy it seems to screw it up. Today, for the first time I had noticed that all of my main emails inbox was repeated in another of my aol accounts, and their original emails....gone, or probably placed somewhere else. I believe that these things happen when one has to do the verification code....they ask you to verify another account so they can know that its legit. ..so i give one of my other aol accounts for verification, and perhaps that is why the mixup. ...another problem with the code is that they say to enter the 8-digit code in the space they include, but when the code arrives I count 7, so that is useless. I ask for phone call code and sometimes the phone does not get to ring, especiallly on weekends or a holiday, if you need verification and have to wait for a regular business day. Anyone know how to get out of this ?

The duplication issue in Thunderbird when you use IMAP can easily be fixed by just going into Tools>Account Settings and then under each IMAP account select the Copies & Folders and uncheck the box near the top that says when sending messages automatically place a copy in.

I use gmail and Outlook.com so I cannot advise on your AOL login.
