Aorus 1080ti installation problems...

I recently bought an Aorus GTX 1080 ti waterforce extreme edition. It needs two 8-pin power connections, but my PSU (EVGA 1000 P2) only came with cables with 8 and 6-pin connections on a single cable. Do I need to buy a 8 and 8-pin connector? Or do I need to plug in another cable to a VGA port on the PSU and connect the other 8-pin end to the card, and just leave the two 6-pin ones free? Also a similar problem with my motherboard.

First: Connect two 8+6 pin cable to the PSU.
Second: Connect two 8 pins to the graphics card. Leave 6 pins free.
