[SOLVED] Aorus B450M Qflash / M.2 issues ?

I want to use an M.2 SSD in my PC. The Mobo is an Aorus B450M, and it's on an old BIOS - f50.

I installed the SSD, unplugged all the current SATA drives and booted from a USB stick with the Windows ISO on it.

The Windows installation starts but says the PC doesn't meet the Windows 11 requirements. but since this PC was already running Windows 11 I think it will be the new SSD it can't find.

Did a bit of Googling, updating the BIOS was suggested. The F50 BIOS is from November 2019 so I thought that worth a go. Downloaded it, extracted to a reformatted USB stick, rebooted. The PC can find the USB stick but cannot read the file.

I plugged the old C: drive back in, no problems booting, but what next? Could the chipset driver be a problem? Is there some other obscure item on the Gigabyte site that needs installing first?

Which aorus b450m is it? is it the B450M AORUS ELITE? or B450 AORUS M ?

Which BIOS version did you try updating the BIOS? did you use the BIOS integrated tab qflash?

450 M, and I tried to use qflash.

And yes, that is how I tried to flash the BIOS. However I will reformat the memory USB stick again and have another go.

OK found I was using a 16GB USB stick.

Did it again with a freshly formatted FAT32 8GB stick and it's not only flashed the BIOS, I've left it installing Windows onto my new SSD. With luck, that will be that apart from adding the two HDDs where most of the data is stored, and installing the huge list of software to install after Windows.

It also took a couple of goes to work out how to use QFlash - it's not the most intuitive bit of software. Had to use it twice as well as I forgot to tick 'update backup BIOS' the first time.

I also now have a photo of the display of boot time keys.

This is resolved, but I can't see where to mark it as such!
