I just finished a build with the motherboard in the title and cannot get any sound via the motherboard to work. Both the back I/0 and front panel I/O on the case are malfunctioning. If sound does come through one of the outputs, it's extremely muffled with very fuzzy sound and constant crackling and popping. I've done all the troubleshooting I think, including updating and reinstalling the audio driver, resetting the BIOS back to factory, etc. However, if I run the audio via the HDMI connect to the graphics card, it sound perfectly fine. Do I just have a trash soundcard onboard and need to do an RMA at this point?

BIOS: F21
CPU: Ryzen 5 1600X
VGA: Gigabyte GTX 1050 Ti

I sure do. It's been there since I first turned the machine on and I've fiddled with every setting in it and looked up all the troubleshooting specific to it that I could find. Nothing worked.

Also, I forgot to mention that there has been no POST beep, however everything but the audio works perfectly fine. It's very odd.

1. Have you looked at "Sound, video and game controllers" in Device Manager, to see if there are any yellow warning signs?
2. Have you looked over the "Playback" devices in "Control Panel > Sound"? Right click each device, choose "Properties" and look in the "Levels" tab for the volume control of each device.

Yup, the system seems to just not recognize that it has an issue. With that and the lack of of a POST beep confirming everything is going 100%, I'm leaning towards just doing an RMA.

If you contact Gigabyte technical support and they can't give you a fix for your problem they will likely offer to RMA the motherboard.
