Hey,

Recently I updated Windows to 20h2 and since then I'm facing Chipset temperature spikes.

Every Windows app including Start Menu and Search instantly gives 10-15 celsius degrees spikes. The chipset on Idle is 38°.
Components are brand new bought a month ago.

I had no issues before the update.

Device Specs:

Device name DESKTOP-EB3MMG1
Processor AMD Ryzen 9 3900XT 12-Core Processor 3.80 GHz
Installed RAM 16.0 GB
Device ID XXXX
Product ID XXXX
System type 64-bit operating system, x64-based processor
Pen and touch No pen or touch input is available for this display
Mobo Aorus Master x570

Windows spec:

Edition Windows 10 Pro
Version 20H2
Installed on ‎12/‎29/‎2020
OS build 19042.685
Experience Windows Feature Experience Pack 120.2212.551.0

Once again,
Everything related to APPS including App Settings ETC is giving temp spikes followed by intolerable fan noise.

EDIT:

PowerPlan CPU tuning fixed the issue.

I made a mistake and bought Wraith Prism. Too weak cooler for 3900XT. Too much noise.

Minimum Processor changed from 99% to 15%.
Minimum is OK even with 5%, that's what I do. Drops idle frequency to less than 2000MHz vith less than 1v keeping it very cool.
Maximum CPU set at 99% will get CPU to run at at it's base frequency, no matter what boost and PBO is set to. Less than 99% down to 50% lowers maximum CPU frequency even more.
What I do is to modify 2 power plans, one to 50 and 5% which keeps CPU up to 2200MHz more than enough for day to day mundane work like internet browsing etc. and one PP to 100 and 5% which allows full boost and PBO when needed for some heavy work and gaming.
https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/powerplanswitcher/9nblggh556l3?activetab=pivot:overviewtab makes it easy to switch between them.
