Aorus Z370 and SSDs

I'm planning on using the Aorus Z370 Gaming 5 motherboard. Does using an M.2 SATA SSD (EVO 860) affect my GPU's performance? Sorry, new to building PCs.

No, it will not affect GPU performance. It will, however, disable some SATA ports as they share bandwidth. Not a big deal unless you have a crazy amount of hard drives or other SATA devices you need to install.

So it shouldn't matter which slot I put it into, right?

If you put it in slot M2M_32G, SATA ports 4 and 5 become disabled.
If you put it in slot M2A_32G, SATA port 0 becomes disabled.
You can't put it in slot M2P_32G, as that only takes PCIe SSDs.

So I'd go M2A_32G. Less SATA ports disabled.
