Question Aours monitor displayport input

Hey

I purchased the Aorus AD27QD monitor and I saw that it supports hdr but has a displayport 1.2 signal input.

I looked online and saw that only displayport 1.4 supports hdr, how is it possible that the monitor supports hdr?

Do I need to purchase a displayport 1.4 cable for it to work? Or will it work on displayport.1.2 as well?

so will the cable that comes with the monitor will be ok for hdr? Because I don't know if its dp 1.2+hdr it says just a dp 1.2 cable

Version numbers don't really work that way.

DisplayPort cables do not affect feature capability, so any DP cable will work.

Also if my rtx 2080 doesnt have dp 1.2 can I connect the cable to the 1.4 input?
