I think the US government should pass a gigantic Yahoo reform bill, it is just wrong that this greedy CEO is making so much money while millions of Americans are dying from lack of a good search engine.
All the CEO CFO COOs are not worth garbage!
They're one of the main reasons the US is hurting: Greedy little sellouts! They take all the credit & deflect all of the blame & still get a bonus when their company is in the toilet. They rather put millions into offshore accounts then pay their employees.
Excellent point there by NuclearShadow.. They can't even maintain a neat webpage for their own sake.. Its so much bloated, I used to rate it as the worst web designs along with hp's.. Although recently they've made it far better.. If the profit figures have grown at that triple rate, yahoo must be doing really good.. Although where is all this good translating too, i am missing the view as of now..
[citation][nom]rajangel[/nom]well. now that she has 47.2 in her pockets. she is gonna secretly sell it. then she will quit.[/citation]
wouldn't suprise me. good ole' Sol Trijillo for telstra in australia did that
[citation][nom]Kelavarus[/nom]Well, really, as much as people are complaining here, how many do you think if the situations were reversed would actually not accept such a compensation package?[/citation]
I wouldn't be able to live with myself keeping that much money in an account just laying around, out of the economy, not doing any good.
She probably looks at other CEOs and goes, why cant I have $100M !?
Seriously, with that kind of money, buy your mansion, buy your car, set away $2M for savings and living costs, and SET UP A FOUNDATION. Help people, you will feel better.
I am one of a few people who earned close to a million dollars and believe me, I worked very hard to get to where I am today. So please do not complain about money, Just focus on working on success which will bring the most reward than sit around and doing nothing for less.
[citation][nom]Jack13[/nom]1. You most likely have minimum wage or slightly above, and 2. You don't have the talent to ever create a company and go into the millions, so of course you can run your mouth like this... not like you'll ever be in the situation where you'd be paid this much.[/citation]
I'm not on minimum wage, I'm a student, and I'm going to study Physics at a well thought of university (University College London). There are plenty of people earning a lot after doing this.
Despite the fact I don't earn anything really, I still volunteer and help people out. I am not running my mouth.
Some people feel okay not spending their money, I don't. In economics, savings are a leakage, the only people they make money for is bankers.
I didn't even say I would give it all away. I suggested spending half of it. (Remember this is for one year).
You obviously think taking on the mentality of the dog eat dog, I worked for this, therefore I deserve more money than I can spend, I'm in (insert developed country here), they are in (insert poor country here), makes you seem more masculine, and like you are part of the wealthy group.
But honestly, the power you feel to be the driving force in shaping someone's entire life is immense. Surely you can understand how important you would feel after giving a homeless person a job, or helping a poor family start up a little business, compared to getting a peice of paper in the mail once a month with a load of zeros in it.
I know this sounds 'liberal' and slightly socialist, but it isn't it's just objectively looking at what makes you feel the best and going with it.
If you feel the best logging into one of your bank accounts online and watching the interest pile up, that's fine; because I'm in the minority, and we will never advance the world to a more friendly place.
I guess my 'problem' is looking at the world through a Physicists eyes, looking at the bigger picture rather than focussing entirely on the monetary dream, on being the baddest motherf*#@$* with his suit and cigar.
Even though such payment sounds obscene, it's the necessary price of capitalism. The alternative would be a centrally planned economy where you do whatever the government tells you to do, or else. To complain about the rich is the same as complaining about not having women -- who's stopping you from getting it all in a free world?
