When i plug it and machine begins to eat from the battery, it makes a loud noise, electrical buzz or high frequency sound, can't describe it well. Anyone know if this is normal? Also i can't find software for my product as apc doesn't lists my product in software tab. Schneider APC BX1400U-GR .

Solution
All UPS will generate some amount of noise while running from battery due to the strong magnetic fields inside their transformer. How loud that will be depends on how tight the windings are, how stiff the iron/ferrite core is, whether the windings have been coated in additional enamel or other material to lock them in place, etc.

Some buzz is inevitable and some UPS are louder than others, you'd need to describe/qualify what 'loud' means for you in this context. Personally, I'd describe my loudest UPS as merely distinctively audible over typical ambient noise, perhaps a bit louder than whispers.
Hi,
as per the sound, there are two inverters:

1) AC to DC inverter (to charge battery)

2) DC to AC inverter (to power computer)

Some units run the computer from the battery at all times. Thus the noise never goes away. Other units will stop buzzing once the battery is charged (and then only make sound occasionally to top up the battery or if wall power is gone).

I'll see if I can figure out which, though if sound goes away you'll know. Probably takes a few hours to charge new battery.

UPDATE: 10 hours for first charge

Other:
Some battery backup devices do not work with certain power supplies. Any PSU that has an "80-plus" rating for example requires a fairly clean AC sinewave which some units do not provide.

Once the battery charges you should TEST it by yanking out the wall power. To be safe you may want to shut down first and unhook the cables from any hard drives if concerned about them crashing and getting damaged.

update:
The battery is NOT used at all times, thus the sounds should go away at roughly 10 hours. So...

1) confirm noise goes away (if not contact APC support)
2) install software for Windows (follow link above, must register)
3) install USB cable
4) setup software (STEP5 in manual talks about "program mode" but either it's self explanatory or there is another page explaining this)
5) TEST (diagnostic button?)
6) TEST (yank out power cord from wall)

There was a "run self test" so i click that and my machine passed. I couldnt find any other tests.

My noise only there when it eats from battery, so when i use it normally there is no noise at all. Only when there is a power cut. So my ups began to use its battery. Is there any other thing i should do?

I don't know how to describe loud, maybe i can record it tomorrow.

I got a new APC UPS and mine also buzzes when on battery.

I was expecting a quiet noise as others reported on reviews of my unit but the buzz is quite loud, definitely way louder than ambient noise.

The noise will come on during the self test briefly, it is persistently on if I pull the AC power.

I can live with the noise during power cuts if its meant to be there, but really I want to know if it means I have a faulty unit or not.

I would say the volume is comparable to hair clippers.

Some clippers are louder than others. I have a few UPS and none of them would qualify as loud in my opinion. Only my smallest ones based on high frequency inverters would qualify as quiet, all of my iron core UPS are on par with the louder noise sources in the rooms they are in when on battery power.

If I had to compare the noise level from my loudest UPS to stuff in my apartment, my fridge would be the closest but again, not all fridges sound the same due variations in how the compressor is mounted and how much material surrounds it to muffle it. Clearly audible when you are near it, but not not an impediment to normal conversation.
