This is ridiculous; Im sure a grocery store is cutting into APL's profits. Is apple intentionally trying to change their public image from innovator(lol at that), to browbeater.

They are vilifying themselves in the eyes of the public.

Sorta like when Ferrari made the F150 race car and ford said, newp, we have that already. It was stupid then. How much so when they aren't even related products.

That was a fair call though..

When most people tell others what car they own, they don't really include the make in the statement.

Actually that isn't stupid since both are cars and some people can mistake them when you just say "I have an F150". This is a grocery store against and electronics company they are not in the same industry at all. You can object to similar trademarks if you are in the same industry (making cars) since it is very possible to mistake the 2 but when in different industries (super market vs electronics) similar trademarks are allowed since no one would confuse them. Also only an idiot would confuse those 2 logos, Apple is just being a power abusive a**hole and trying to force everyone to conform to them.

Did you google the pictures of the Ferrari F150? They're in no ways alike, not even to a car enthusiast. If you were talking to someone who owns the Ferrari F150, you would know that they aren't talking about a Ford F150.

"is using Apple's reputation"

Hey Apple Inc; nobody in his right mind wishes to have your 'reputation' !

Underpowered and overpriced merchandise made with foreign labor.

Yeah, Ferrari F-150 owners and Ford F-150 owners tend to party together :)

Nah not really, both of these companies make automobiles.

Technically Ford uses the F-150 as the model of their popular Pickup Truck but it's close enough to possibly confuse some folks and dilute the branding that Ford has created over the decades.

How much so when they aren't even related products.[/citation]If you're a bit more familiar with trademark laws it makes sense. To be fair Ford and Ferrari (well, Fiat now) are both automakers. So they are in the same industry. Ford builds race cars too, on occasion, and they own the "F-150" trademark. While I'm not siding with Ford, you must realize that if you make no attempt to protect your trademarks, you can lose them.

http://www.chillingeffects.org/trademark/faq.cgi#QID418

The Apple thing is a bit more far-fetched because the grocery store does not build electronics. If they sold Blu-ray players, etc under that brand name with that logo, it would be a different story. On the other hand, if they don't attempt to protect their trademarks aggressively (even in cases where it seems silly or they know they will lose), that could cause a problem for them in the future. Even so, I don't side with Apple on this one.

they should add a special welcome page to a.pl for out of country visitors that redirects them to F(first letter of country).a.pl

So England woudl be fe.a.pl
and USA would be fu.a.pl
