gameing in general needs a good pc, only because of f***ing direct x, if microsoft didnt produce fud back when opengl was picking up and being widely used, we would most likely not be useing windows today.

think of it. most kids back than had a computer for games. and the pc was expensive enough without windows added cost. so a linux distro and there you go. the linux distro would have mostly followed windows evolution, but without the complete ui revamp that visa and 7 did.

because microsoft wouldn't be dominant, business probably would use the os that everyone got use to, kind of like how photoshop is used because thats what everyone pirated, they learned it, got use to it, and now its the default the pros use.

now back to opengl. if that would have taken off like it should have, due it it being better than direct x and having more features until dx11 (even than i'm not sure what 11 does gl cant as of now)

if you are a person of questionable value and you know it, you can do one of the followings to boost your self esteem:
- buy a 5 litre v8 , with 20 inch rims and 2 mpg, to take your kids to school
- buy a 600$ phone that cost 99$ to build, but cannot successfully make phone calls
- or you can chose a 800$ tablet that has less use than the aforementioned car..
