[SOLVED] Apple Earbuds as Headset with audio and mic support.

I have an alienware computer with 3 audio jacks; and am trying to use my apple earbuds as a headset with both headphones and mic. 1st jack; headphones. 2nd jack; headset w microphone. 3rd jack; mic only. If i use my apple earbuds with the 1st jack, i can hear audio, which is normal. if i use them with the 2nd jack, i can hear audio but cannot use the mic; which seems abnormal. if i use them with the third, i can only use the mic; no audio; which is also normal, but makes me wonder why the middle jack for headsets cant pick up the mic. the mic shows up in recording devices if plugged into the microphone jack, but not the headset jack. is there a solution to this?

All you should need is a 4 pole to dual 3 pole adapter.
