Good for them : ). I just bought a BBQ the other day that was labelled as "Made in North America", and it came with a pamphlet thanking me and showing off manufacturing right here at home
They should not be able to get away with this deception.
A device can be completely manufactured overseas and shipped to the US.
They then install the batteries in the US and label it "Made in USA".
Sounds like it is just an assembly plant. 100 Million doesn't seem like much for Apple to spend. They will get good PR with it being "Made in America."
Although I'm not the biggest supporter of Apple, this is a step in the right direction. However, how much would this Mac cost due to U.S. citizens being employed vs cheap offshore labor? Also, "include components made in Illinois and Florida" still leads on that the majority of the parts are not U.S. made.
This sounds good but it seems to be a little PR stunt. Apple your products are made in China just admit it and move on.
Samsung has invested well over 4B in Texas which of course is why Apple chose Texas. Invest over 4B in Texas then you have me believing you make "stuff" in the US like Samsung does. http://www.samsung.com/global/business/semiconductor/news-events/press-releases/detail?newsId=11861
First thought was $100M? Is that all?
I our views on money can be quite skewed at times. Then I was like, well I suppose that actually is a truckload of money. Well a ISO standard pallet worth anyway. http://demonocracy.info/infographics/usa/us_debt/us_debt.html
The company ahs been working FOR YEARS to do more in the united states.
It takes them years to do somehting in USA? It seems everytime this guy speaks, he says something stupid .
