Question Apple Lightning Adapter to… What?

Hi, guys.

I have a cord that has an Apple lightning plug on one end and the other end is a larger (but still flat) plug with four exposed electrical contacts on just one side. Its that end which I cannot find a use for or anything similar on the internet. Maybe it is an out of date technology. The cord itself is flat.

Not quite sure how to share a photo here, but does this sound familiar?

The “strange” plug is 1/2” wide, 1/16” thick and the contacts are each 1/16” wide.

It sounds like USB-A, just without the shell around it.

You are correct! Thanks a lot. I plugged it into a laptop and my iphone and it connected. Had no idea they made shell-less USB connectors… Strange! I never would have thought to try that.
