So the US once again takes the side of a patent troll? And this time, said troll isn't even doing anything fruitful about the freakin' patent, but just sits around and waits 'til it's sue time?

Agreed. I'm sure once Apple have settled they will move on to Samsung, LG and Sony.
Total karma, apple acts like a douchebag patent troll thinking they invented the air we breathe, no another one does the same to them.
The problem is the patent system needs a MAJOR overhaul when it comes to tech and esp software. Too many things are given patents that shouldnt be, and they are far too broad and so encourage patent trolls and massively stifle innovation.
Apple will just overcharge it's next batch of iProducts on the consumer to make up for the loss. Iphone 5's already cost more than what the 4 and 4s did at launch so expect the 5s or 6 to sell at an even higher price point.
I do not support the litigious nature of how Apple essentially stifles innovation and cooperation by basically not licensing its technology and suing anyone that has something that even resembles their tech. But at least they also make products. In this case, VirnetX is just a patent troll.
[quotemsg=10441497,12,409057]Like Apple isn't going to pass the cost along to its customers?[/quotemsg]
and like customers arent going to respond by shifting loyalty to another company. not all of them obviously but apple is on a very slippery slope when it comes to consumer loyalty.
Stupid judge handing down an order against Apple like that! No rules or normal logic apply to them or their followers!
Doesn't he know it isn't "stealing" when Apple does it, that it's really "innovation"?
Excellent news. We need more of these rulings against Apple. The only way things are gonna change is if Apple, the biggest troll of all, is fought in full force.
