Apple to android (SIM Cards)

Hi I have an IPhone 5c under a family plan. and I just got a Sony Xperia Z3 from my friend for my birthday. He got it here (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00NUASZMC/ref=ask_ql_qh_dp_hza). Can I just switch the sim to the new Sony phone and have everything fine and working normally?
