This article is a little hazy, but from what I understood, apple is actually doing a good thing? they are letting you trade in your 3rd party adapters and get a apple adapter at half price, because one person died from using a 3rd adapter.

For a second I thought apple had made faulty power adapters which would have been really stupid of them.

£8 for a new adapter is still a rip off as these things cost them almost nothing to make. There are also many, many 3rd party adapters that are perfectly good and safe to use, so this just comes under 'legal scaremongering'.

It`s Apple`s fault so why should you pay for their blunder`s it`s a disgrace.
I have a video showing you an iPhone exploding in his back pocket,and a guy came to see if he was alright. This was all caught on a surveillance camera which Apple could not ague about. I think they gave him a new one nothing else was said.
