If you read the comments posted against the tweet to which you have linked, it has already been confirmed these are numbers from an A12Z SoC, not the M1. The M1 is slated to run at 3.2 GHz, not 2.5 GHz, so it's going to be substantially faster than what these numbers suggest.
As a so-called technology site, you should not be posting random tweets as if it was news or substantial information without first verifying the claims yourselves. Hopefully, you'll be getting your hands on actual M1 Macs to run your own benchmarks or is it too much to expect Tom's to be unbiased nowadays...
