Application failed to start because the application configuration is incorrect

Receive error massage as follows:

C:\Program Files|Windows\Messenger\.exe

"This application has failed to start because application configuration is incorrect".

I installed the messenger program several time,however, I keep receiving the same error message every time.

You get a "massage" really ? 😀
First the directory looks all messed up, right click properties and make sure to correct the slash before windows and default install is NOT the windows directory.
I would do a thorough virus check and malware first. The correct link would be "C:\Program Files\Messenger\msmsgs.exe" see if correcting the link fixes it.
